Sleep, Next to Flames

It's so hot here.

Next to this
I am untouched.
I am changed
by the heat.

My skin will remember

now this feel
of rising colour.
If only I could sleep
next to flames like this

everyday. A hundred thousand

words can make a book.
As each book speaks
each word out loud.
As each word speaks

out loud to name

its name. I am
the one who cannot be
forgotten. I am
the one no one

remembers.

We start here.
With only one match
& one hand. We
arrange ourselves

to become more

than we imagine.
We strike this dawn
to let the sulphur burn
a new blue world.
